Volunteer with WCACO
WCACO is powered entirely by volunteers and that means you make everything possible. From exhibitions and programs to field trips and socials, our vibrant chapter thrives because members step forward to share their time, talents, and enthusiasm.
Working side-by-side on exhibits, events, and projects is one of the best ways to build meaningful relationships. Volunteering helps you expand your professional network—and often leads to lasting friendships within our creative community.
Volunteering with WCACO is also a chance to learn. You might discover how to:organize and promote an exhibition, install and deinstall a show, or strengthen your skills in social media and communications.
Volunteer Opportunities
WCACO offers a range of volunteer roles to match different interests, skills, and availability. Whether you enjoy leading projects or contributing behind the scenes, your involvement helps bring our exhibitions and programs to life. Every contribution matters. No task is too small.
Exhibit Curator & Manager
This is a multi-month leadership role ideal for members who enjoy shaping a meaningful experience for the artists and viewers. You’ll guide an exhibit from concept to completion while working with schedules, budgets, and detailed planning. Mentoring and resources are provided.
Exhibit Social Media Coordinator
Each exhibit needs strong visibility. This short-term role focuses on creating graphics or coordinating social medi posts to promote the call for entry and the exhibition itself. The commitment lasts only for the duration of the show, with a big impact on reach and engagement.
Exhibit Support
Exhibits succeed through many hands. Support roles include installing and deinstalling artwork, checking in artists and drop off and pick up, preparing art tags, distributing postcards to galleries, and helping coordinate receptions. Tasks vary in size and time commitment.
Social Media Monitor
Help keep our online spaces welcoming and active by monitoring either our Facebook Group or Instagram account. This six-month role can be done easily from your computer or phone and is a great fit for someone who enjoys light, ongoing engagement.
Web Design
We’re planning a simple refresh of the WCACO website and welcome members with web design or UX experience to help improve clarity and presentation.
Promotions & Media Outreach
If you enjoy writing or storytelling, this role may be for you. Opportunities include drafting and distributing press releases, developing social media campaigns, and creating reels or short videos that highlight the chapter’s work.
Bookkeeper
A behind-the-scenes role well suited for someone who enjoys organization and accuracy. The time commitment is approximately two hours per month, with a two-year term. Training provided.

Join a Committee
Another way to get involved is to join one of our committees: exhibits, marketing, diversity, murals, and fundraising. Contact information and details are on the member portal.
