The theme Atmosphere encompasses all aspects of the word, spanning from the physical world and cosmos, to the intangible realm of emotions, attitudes, and surrounding influences. We encourage artists to submit work that explores and showcases your interpretation of the theme in its various forms. The sky’s the limit!

 

Eligibility

 

  • Paintings, sculptures, installations, mixed media, photography, and digital art will all be considered. 2-D work must be ready to hang with wire hanging.

  • Only entries submitted online through Callforentry.org will be considered.

  • All WCACO members are encouraged to use this coupon for their CaFE application. (posted in member portal)

 

Timeline

  • Submissions will be accepted until August 13, 2023

  • Artist notification: week of August 20, 2023

  • Shipped work needs to arrive by Saturday, Sept 23, 2023

  • Hand-delivered Artwork Drop Off/Delivery:  Sept 23, 24, between 1 and 4 pm

  • Exhibition will run September 28-October 22 2023

  • Opening Reception: September 29, 5 – 9 PM

  • First Friday, October 6, 5 – 9 PM

  • Artwork Pickup: October 22, 4 PM

 

Prizes

                               Cash prizes will be presented to one artist for Best of Show ($300) 

                               Three ($100) Honorable Mentions will be awarded.

                               The juror will announce the winners at the opening reception on

                               September 29, 2023.

Meet the Juror

​

Robin Hextrum is a contemporary oil painter who lives and works in the Denver area. She completed a double major in Fine Art and Neuroscience, received her MFA in painting, then completed a second Master’s degree in Modern and Contemporary Art History at UC Riverside, CA. 

Her paintings represent a fusion of her traditional art training with her knowledge of art history and art theory. 

Robin is now an Associate Professor of Visual Art at Regis University and the Chair of Visual Arts. She has exhibited her paintings across the country and has gallery representation at Abend Gallery in Colorado. https://www.robinhextrum.com
