Artist Statement

​

I am a Native New Mexican oil painter with an education in Anthropology and studio art. As a representational artist, it is easy to focus on the surface of objects and neglect the reasons you are drawn to lay them down as art.

As part of my process, I take imagery from moments and memories to create tangible objects that now live in the material world. Almost like totems, each piece represents a glimpse of my story, displayed to whoever wants to see it.
