Show Details: 'Photo Plus' is an alternative processes photography show to be held at the South Gallery of the Lakewood Cultural Center. Juried by Greg Cradick, local artist and photography instructor.

Show Theme & Guidelines:

Content: Pieces included in this show must deal with a 'layers'. ie: peeling back the layers, deeper layered meaning through symbolism or storyline, layered techniques (digital, 3-dimensional or via darkroom manipulation), layered media (wrapped, painted or sewn, etc). These pieces can work with conceptual ideas such as: layers of communication, identity, social/personal roles and relationships, layers of consciousness, understanding, etc., just to name a few ideas.

Mediums: The 'Photo Plus' show is intended to showcase alternative processes. This is not a show for standard photographic images. Images may be 2 or 3 dimensional, as long as an alternative process is utilized. Polaroid transfers, cyanotypes, darkroom manipulation, manipulation of a photo to integrate it into another form, use of non-conventional materials, etc. If you have a question as to your approach contact the show curator.

Criteria: Because of limited space, pieces must be 3'x3' or smaller, including frame or presentation method. All pieces must be appropriately gallery-ready in presentation and quality. Pieces that are not will be juried out. Please be familiar with the WCA exhibit guidelines. The juror will follow this criteria.

The juror will be assembling pieces for the show based on: craft (execution of the piece) is 50 percent; theme 25 percent; and image 25 percent.
