Jack & Jill: An exploration of relationships among the sexes Dates: March/April, 2005 Location: Air Force Academy Gallery Important Dates/Deadlines: Jack & Jill informational meeting & lecture: Sunday, Nov. 21, Noon Core New Art Space, 900 Santa Fe, Denver, CO Email submission deadline: Jan. 31, 2005 Subject line for email: WCA images to jury Email to: pam.chadick@usafa.af.mil Include in body of email: Female Artist Medium Size Title Price Artist Statement Phone/email address Male Artist Medium Size Title Price Artist Statement Phone/email address Details: The topics that the artist could select from would include: father/daughter, mother/son, siblings, husband & wife and what is essentially male and what is essentially female. Knowing that the leadership is sensitive to nudity the artists would self-censer their deptions of the human figure. Each WCA member would select a topic to be explored with another "invited male artist." Each member would submit their images to be included in the show as a couple, subject to jurying. They coul dowkr individually or collaboratively. Each pair would have approximately 8 liner feet to work within. Artists would include when submitting their work for jurying an artist/s statement. Installation is a possibility for exploration but would also be subject to jurying. The gallery wold have room for approximately 10 pairs of wall art and approximately 5 pairs of pedestal art. Each pair would email their images of consideration 6 weeks prior to the show date opening so that there would be plenty of time to jury and plan the show. Realizing that the campus is regularly closed to the pulice, the artists would abide by the Academy's arrangements in the dropping off of work, hanging, reception and talk. |
